Your challenge
Successful evaluation of the tenure track (max. 4 years) will lead to a tenured position at the level of assistant/associate professor.
Your profile
We aim for a candidate at senior post-doctoral level (3-6 years of post-doctoral experience), with a past performance of publications in internationally recognized journals and proven ability to attract grants for his/her research. International experience as well as capacity to interact with the research themes within the department is highly recommended.
Candidates are invited to send their curriculum vitae, including previous research experience and a short outline of their future research line. As part of the procedure, selected candidates are invited to write an in-depth proposal of their innovative research line that they wish to carry out within the department. The proposal will be presented during an interview with members from the Physiology department and external committee members.
Your work environment
The department of Physiology aims to improve (cardiac) muscle function and prevent vascular dysfunction in various clinical pathologies. Our department has an excellent track record in innovative translational research, in which we combine state-of-art methodologies for functional and structural studies in muscular and vascular preparations with studies in patients in close collaboration with clinical departments. The department offers an outstanding scientific and stimulating research environment with high-end core facilities for muscle physiology, fly, fish and rodent models, vessel and endothelial cell studies combined with a broad range of biochemical analyses (at the level of DNA, RNA, protein). Research is embedded in the Amsterdam UMC institute Amsterdam Cardiovascular Sciences. Amsterdam UMC houses a serie of excellent core facilities, i.e. genomics, proteomics, imaging and rodent facility. The department of Physiology actively participates in educational programs of the Human Health and Life Sciences Bachelor program of the Vrije Universiteit, Medicine, Cardiovascular Research Master and Amsterdam University College
We offer
Salary Scale 11: 3672 tot 5040 euro gross when employed full-time (depending on qualifications and experience).
Depending on qualifications and experience scale 12 is considered.
