Great progress has been made in the field of mitochondrial biology and it is nowadays well established that mitochondria are involved in many cellular functions beyond bioenergetics and biosynthesis. Mitochondrial dysfunction is associated with metabolic disorders, cancer, and neurodegeneration. Hence, there is an urgent need to gain insight how impaired mitochondrial metabolism contributes to pathology and how this can be therapeutically targeted.

We are therefore pleased to invite you to the Netherlands Mitochondria Meeting on 22^nd November at the O|2 building at the Amsterdam UMC, VUmc. We believe that the program, including three keynote speakers and several presentations from scientists from Dutch universities is of interest for a broad audience.
